BABANGIDA, AN INDIGENE OF OGBOMOSO,OYO STATE
This is news behind news. News that is greater than News. Iroyin to ju Iroyin lo.
By Adedokun Davies 2018
The
former head of state, ex president and Commander- in -Chief of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB),has been
claiming to be an offshoot of Minna, the Capital City of Niger State of
Nigeria. But for many years, those who can remove cooked yam to the
bottom of pot had been telling anybody that cares to listen that
Babangida the creator of militoncracy in Nigeria is an indigene of an
ancient town in Oyo State of Nigeria known as Ogbomoso.
The
story and historical exponents argued with an oath taken with the grave
of their grand mother that the grandfathers of Babangida were born and
bred in Ogbomoso town. That it was the struggle for greener pastures
that took them to the land of Hausa/Fulani in the years too numerous to
be counted by the tips of fingers.
This information exponents
who are in plurals told OLOKIKI news on line that up to the time of
advent of Badamosi, their Yoruba Origin tongue was glaring.
They maintained that the Ibrahim in IBB’S name was an Islamic name.
That Badamosi was originally Gbadamosi. That it is a name that emanated
from Yoruba language, that the Hausa/Fulanis can not pronounce “GB” which
is an aiphabet in the Yoruba language that made them to call Badamosi
instead of Gbadamosi.
They also reiterate the point that
Baba-n-gida the surname of IBB means Baba in the house. Therefore the
Baba before ngida is a name of respected father among the Yorubas.
Those behind these reveletion also maintained that IBB has been told
severally about his place of origin and has even accepted it informally.
Badamosi Babangida was also said to be fluent in Yoruba
language that he can even write messages in the language of the Yorubas.
Those contacted on the issue corroborated the matter with OLOKIKI news
on line. The elders among them said “The Ogbomoso people are vastly
travelling people and that their fore fathers have migrated to many
parts of the world starting from Ibadan,to the Northern parts of
Nigeria,to African countries like Togo, to Burkina Faso(formally Upper
Volta) and Ivory coast among others .
They stick to the point
that this was reason for Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida present status as a
son of the soil in Ogbomoso and Niger State paripasu.
Keep a date with OLOKIKI as we shall keep you posted.
Has
Babangida Yoruba connection affected “June 12 “ 1993.Also how it as
affected the botched creation of new Oyo State and Ibadan State from the
present Oyo State of Nigeria,West Africa.

COMMOTION IN THE HOUSE OF HERBAL MEDICINE
YEMKEM VS OKO OLOYUN
Things Fall Apart, Patapata
By: Patricia Nwogu
Things has finally fall apart in the house of herbal medicine.
The group known as Herbal Therapy Society of Nigeria (HTSN) was formed about fourteen years ago in Lagos and later having chapters in other states, especially, in the South West of Nigeria.
Popular herbal medicine producers, promoters and practitioners were the founding personalties.
They include Dr Akintunde Ayeni,(YEMKEM),Dr Fatai Yusuf,(Oko Oloyun),Dr Temitayo Adeyemi (Omooba),Dr Finnih,Dr Kaolag, Madam Nike Adepoju and many others who made their livinghood through traditional medicine;
Right from the formation of the society, Yemkem had been unanimously saddled with the presidency of this group.
While Dr Temitayo Adeyemi Omooba was occupying the office of Vice President.Oko Oloyun was made the chairman of the board of Trustees. Things were going on well as expected, until recently when the bubble bursts.
The wall of hitherto peaceful society suddenly carved in, and the proverbial lizard entered in straight.
As at now, two factions of herbal society had emerged.
While Dr Akintunde Ayeni remained the leader of the age long HPSN, a splinter group has broken out.
The group was being led by Dr Fatai Yusuf (Oko Oloyun) under a new name with acronym NAP.
While the Oko Oloyun’s NAP has been patronising media to herald their relevance and seriousness, the Yemkem faction had remained undaunted.
Olokiki News can authoritatively report that the comotion in the house of herbal medicine had been gathering momentum for some years back. It was rooted in the business rivalry between the two herbal medicine gladiators ,YemKem and Oko Oloyun.
While YemKem is gladiating with the promotional appelation as “Parthfinder”. His younger rival had been boasting that He is the Master. And that ‘Master is Master”.
While all these were regarded as business rivalry. Oko Oloyun extended it to the leadership of their society.
He started by confroting the YemKem accolades; And began to undermining the constituted leadership.
The last straw that broke the camels back was when the society decided to hold election last year 2017.
Candidacy of Akintunde Ayeni was touted by his supporters. But Oko Oloyun as a person will not listen to that. His argument was that for over ten years that the society has been formed.
YemKem has remained the President. He therefore argued that Akintunde Ayeni must step aside by not contesting in the election at all. Oko Oloyun believes this will pave way for him to win the presidency of the society.
But the pro YemKem group vehemently opposed to this point.Their own point was that, the leadership of YemKem during the formation period was without election. That the 2017 election was the first election to be held by the society.
Therefore, Akitunde Ayeni must “carry box” in the election, And pro YemKem finally won the debate.
Olokiki News garthered from reliable source that the decision and approval of YemKem to contest sent jittery to Oko Oloyun, having realised that he may not be able to defeat Ayeni in a free and fair election.
One of the points YemKem group were reiterating to send Oko Oloyun to cooler was that Oko Oloyun’s education background is not sufficient to lead a national society.
Another point was that Oko Oloyun does not financially commited to the society. Because most of his self made promises to the society were never fulfilled.
However, Oko Oloyun would not sucumb to his opponents brangade, He boycotted the 2017 election, and Yemkem and his group won all the seats vied for, mostly unopposed.
The fallout of YemKem’s victory was the declaration of Oko Oloyun as the president of his own faction.
Fatai Yusuf Oko Oloyun wasted no time, he quickly gathered his cronies and sympathisers together funded them to form his own factional society known as NAP and was instantly installed the President General.
Meanwhile both Oko Oloyun’s and YemKem’s societies have been clinching to Ooni of Ife,Oba Enitan Ogunwusi to shur up their relevance to Yoruba race in general.
Both groups had at one date or the other paid homage to Ile Ife kingdom and had been received by the Royal Father of the source of sons and daughters of Oduduwa

BUHARI’S IMAGE MAKERS ARE TOO ABUJALISED
By: Abdulganiyu Ajamu
A call has been made to those put in charge of publicity and image making of President Muhammadu Buhari to reorganise their operations to correct negative impression many Nigerians are having about the Nigerian leader.
The call was made by the publisher of OLOKIKI Newspaper on line, Elder Olugbenga Ogundiran during the formal introduction of the newspaper in Akure, the Ondo State capital,Nigeria,West Africa.
The event was held on the 30th of May 2018.
OLOKIKI publisher said ‘Activities of image makers of PMB are too centralised. Their operations and efforts are concentrated in Abuja, the Federal Capital of Nigeria and they know little about what is going on in the nook and cranies of Nigeria. They need to decentralised and let the President be portrayed in proper and good image across the thirty six States of Nigeria.
An investigation conducted by OLOKIKI news on line revealed that the over centralization, otherwise called Abujalisation of machinery of government information has created field day for antagonists of Buhari to be heeping hate speeches on PMB and his government and his political party without any let or hindrances.
Private and even government owned radio stations are agog every morning with phone- in verbal expression of many uncivilised words on the President and his activities.
Opposing political parties have plotted their stoogies strategically to misconstrue President speech, action and inaction up-side-down to rain war of words on him unabated.
The Publisher of OLOKIKI news said “It is only in Buhari’s regime that I have witnesssed a nation’s President being called names with abuses and curses on him, and his friends, supporters, sympathizers and even his paid image makers fold their arms and mouths while the bad belle runs without reply. No sensitisation of the educated-illiterates commentators and uncultured human rights activits.
“Image makers of the president must wake up to their responsibilities” He concluded.

AKUNGBA PROFESSOR IN THE CENTRE OFTHE STORM
No longer at ease is the quote to describe the prevailiing situation at the Saint Luke’s Anglican Church Idiagba Tuntun, Akure as at now.
The Church is a parish of Akure Diocese of Anglican Communion of Nigeria
Sources inform Olokiki that the situation may go out of control if not quickly arrested. At the eye of the storm is an Adekunle Ajasin University Lecturer Professor Christopher Olu Aboluwoye.
It all started during and after the parish election, recently conducted in Akure.
Election to the controlling body of the church, popularly called PCC is an annual affairs.
But it was speculated that Professor Aboluwoye has been in the helm of affairs for over fifteen years, using his social status to bully any candidate away, and win the yearly elections as he is said to be the only professor available at highest level of Anglican Church not only in his parish, but in all the Diocese of Akure.
But he was not so lucky this year as some new contenders had got together to challenge Aboluwoye perpetuation in the PCC.
After he was beaten to his chicanery that got him out of office, he began to install his protégé both men and women, with a particular reference to one of his mistresses in the parish.
This action was vehemently opposed by the new freedom group, thereby putting the parish and diocese in disaray.Meanwhile grave silence is the current order of the day at Saint Luke Anglican Church, Idiagba tuntun Akure.
Investigation to the matter is going on by OLOKIKI News online. Readers will be kept abbrest as the drama unfolds.

YEM KEM OPENS UP ON COCAINE PUSHING HALLABALOO
AT LAST !
YEM KEM OPENS UP ON COCAINE PUSHING HULLABALOO!
Dr Akintunde Ayeni Isola, the Managing Directorof Yem Kem International has finally opens up on the
issue of drug pushing that has been making waves for a good period of time.
Yem Kem is a wealthy and popular traditional medicine merchant. He is also known as Pathfinder, because he is believed to have scored many first in the art of packaging of traditional medicine popularly called herbal medicines.
Akintunde Ayeni has extended a lot of patronage to print and electronic media, this has made his name to become a household, not only in the South West Zone of Nigeria, but also in many parts of the World.
This famousity has attracted goodwill and patronage to this Oye Ekiti born business man. However like in
any human endeavors, price must be paid for glamour and success.
Therefore, it is with a mixed feelings the news that Akintunde Ayeni is pushing drugs was received by the public. While some dismissed the news with a wave of hand, many takes it as a gospel truth
The matter attained a higher dimension of talk around when it was circulated that Akintunde Ayeni is a
frequent traveler to many foreign countries like U.K, Asia, China among others.
But the straw that breaks the camel’s back, was the opening of a gigantic tourist edifice known as
Pathfinder Hotel in Ado Ekiti, the Capital of Ekiti State, in the South West of Nigeria.
Because, immediately after the house warming ceremony, the NDLEA, the agency of Federal Government that controls drugs and allied matters in Nigeria, put machinery in motion and whisked Akintunde Ayeni away to their interrogation centre. The rest is history.
But now, the man at the bottom of the matter, Dr Ishola Akintunde Ayeni, Yem Kem has, for the first time opens up and addressed public about the issue of drug pushing.
It all takes place at the palace of Ooni of Ife kingdom,Ile Ife,the most ancient town in the South West of Nigeria, West Africa. At a ceremony put together to formally introduce Yem Kem as the president of the Herbal Therapy Society of Nigeria (HTSN) to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi on the 10th of April 2018.
Dr Akintunde Ayeni while pleading with Ooni to do all withing his powers for the development, promotion, and acceptance of traditional medicines of Yoruba land, explained what led to his being castigated as a drug baron.
Yem Kem explained that many people have stigmatized traditional medicine as a product of the illiterates, and down trodden citizens .
That was a reason that the wealth of any successful herbal Practitioner is a subject of suspicion, that it must have comes from hidden sources.
Dr.Akintunde Ayeni then narrated how National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (NDLEA) pounced on him
after opening of His Hotel at Ado Ekiti, drilling and grilling him to explain the source of his money.
Because, they say an ordinary practitioner of herbal medicine cannot be able to get money to build an edifice like his Parthfinder Hotel.
After a lot of explanation and revelation of his bank transactions, they realized the fact that traditional medicine is capable of creating wealth, if conscientiously packaged as he and his society members are doing.
He thereafter presented many modernized packages of herbal medicine to Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
